Raymond Nomizu, CEO
Prior to co-founding CRIO, Raymond owned and operated a clinical research site. He has over 10 years of management consulting experience, including The Boston Consulting Group. He also started Bench Core, a real estate data analytics company that was acquired by RefineRE. He began his career as an attorney and has JD and BA degrees from Harvard University. When not at work, Raymond likes to attempt yoga poses, and to travel with his wife and 4 children.
Daniel brings over 20 years of product development leadership from various industries, including healthcare and the life sciences. During his time at CambridgeSoft and PerkinElmer, he led the development of the company’s flagship product suite which is the gold standard for Pharmaceutical and Biotech companies conducting chemistry research. He has an MS in Biophysical Chemistry from Cornell University.
CRIO’s approach revolves around the user experiencer. As the Director of UX, Elvis spearheads the improvement of digital experiences across our platform and oversees all design efforts on our UX roadmap. Elvis gathers insight at each stage of the design journey, ensuring that final outcomes are validated by customer input. With over a decade of in-depth experience leading end-to-end design efforts, Elvis is recognized for his skills in transforming business requirements into enjoyable user experiences. Elvis works hard and plays smart. In his free time, he likes to mountain bike, kiteboard, and camp with family and friends.
Kristen’s expertise in the CRIO software suite is unmatched. As CRIO’s Product Manager, Kristen is our in-house product guru who brings an analytical approach to identifying product success and solving platform issues. Kristen earned a BA in Business Management and Mathematics from Lesley University. Ultimately, life is all about balance. Off hours, you’ll find her unwinding at one of Boston’s many craft breweries, or watching “The Office” with her pit bull, Sasha.
A multi-faceted professional, Zoe has served at CRIO in a range of management, engineering and customer-facing roles. As Product Owner, Zoe manages the full product lifecycle from concept to launch and has developed many of CRIO’s major platform enhancements, including our forecasting and budget amendment tools. Prior to CRIO, Zoe served as content manager for a real estate technology startup and earned an A.B. from Harvard University. When she isn’t rolling up her sleeves to help the team, Zoe unplugs with a cup of tea and enjoys competitive ballroom dancing.
Eric is an impactful business development driver who partners directly with research sites to understand their goals and help them maximize their success. Over the years, he has been instrumental in helping hundreds of sites improve their operations. A graduate of Westfield State University, Eric is equipped with over a decade of experience building relationships across a variety of industries including sports, manufacturing and software. Eric’s work philosophy is “sweat today and celebrate tomorrow,” so every once in a while, he does take a break. Out of the office, Eric has been known to obsess over Boston sports and fantasy football leagues.
With over 20 years of experience in the technology industry, Bala has a reputation for shaping cutting-edge engineering developments. Bala was a member of America Online’s core team that launched AOL Instant Messenger. At Seachange, he helped build software that ran on a majority of cable systems, delivering over 50% of video on demand content to U.S. households. From writing code to managing research teams, as Principal Engineer – Data Solutions, Bala partners with other strategic owners to manage back-end systems at CRIO. Bala holds a B.S. in Physics from the University of Massachusetts. Off hours, he enjoys biking, kayaking and hiking with his labrador, Finley.
After completing a masters degree in computer science from Tufts University, Greg spent 10 years at Tripadvisor where he built and scaled many products for a huge global user base. He’s passionate about developing reliable and clean systems both user facing and back end. When not working Greg can be found climbing rocks or exploring nature with his wife and daughter.
Simon has been working professionally with hypertext technologies since 1992. He spent 12 years at AstraZeneca, creating applications for scientists that improved processes, enabled visualization, and pioneered using the Semantic Web and industry ontologies. Simon has since brought his passion for innovation, robust architecture, and process improvement to PerkinElmer and Cambridge Semantics. Simon holds a B.A. in the Technology of Writing from Vassar College, and has completed coursework in biochemistry. Outside of work, Simon enjoys time with his family, playing piano, cross-country skiing, and biking.
In the 15 years of his career, Chris has brought innovative, reliable, and precise solutions to organizations large and small. At Bose, Chris led the team that built a managed cloud database system with the performance and uptime to support millions of consumer electronics customers worldwide. At Paint Nite and FSI, he wrangled stalled projects and legacy systems to bring them up to modern standards. Chris has a particular love of optimization in all its forms, whether at the language level in a compiler or in always-on distributed systems. In his free time, he enjoys woodwork, 3D printing, art, cooking, and learning about cephalopods.
Usha brings 20 years of QA and leadership experience from companies like KAYAK and Accenture. She has led numerous onshore and offshore projects, and positively shaped upcoming QA engineers through her dedicated mentorship. Usha has been instrumental in building automation frameworks and guiding teams in complete coverage of automated and manual testing. She applies her skills at CRIO, leading the QA team to ensure the best quality product. She holds a master’s in Computer Science and enjoys hiking, biking, and exploring nature with her family.
Daenya is a communications strategist adept at building multi-channel marketing strategies from the ground up. She has spearheaded the development and execution of marketing, corporate, and change communications for companies spanning multiple industries including corporate, manufacturing, e-commerce and construction. Daenya earned a BA in Public Relations from Pepperdine University, a master’s in Strategic Communications from Trinity Washington University and is an alumna of Kappa Alpha Theta.
